Hello

The Accidental Ancestral Chef
Born in the tropical island of Jamaica, my family tree is more of a global culinary mix of African, European and Asian roots. At the age of 11, my grandmother began to share her recipes with me. She didn't believe in "exact measurements." Her philosophy? "A little bit of this, a dash of that, and if it tastes good, it's perfect." I was her diligent apprentice scribbling down recipes of which only I could decipher.  Fast forward a few decades, and I've bravely translated these notes to actual measurable recipes with some adjustments to make them more keto/carnivore friendly.

My culinary mission is to prepare savory dishes and put them on a diet. We're talking low-carb, no-sugar makeovers, because apparently, my ancestors didn't have to worry about oxalates or phytates interfering with their mineral absorption. (Honestly, I'm pretty sure they just worried about whether the yam was cooked through.) This quest has allowed me to fully embrace my keto/carnivore lifestyle.

The Skinny Cookbook is for anyone who wants to enjoy truly delicious meals and drinks while simultaneously adhering to a Ketogenic or Carnivore lifestyle. It's for those of us who yearn for flavor without the sneaky carbs, sugars, preservatives, and questionable oils. These recipes have been my secret weapon in my own dramatic weight loss and weight maintenance saga.
